Understanding Status Assignments
How to use the status assignment process to move your companies through a sales funnel.
Tracking Warm Prospects, Cold Prospects, and Clients
GrowthPulse uses a status field in the company data to track whether a company is a Cold Prospect, Warm Prospect, or Existing Client. Here's how it works:
Status Assignment: Each company in the database has a 'status' field. This field can have one of three values:
"Cold Prospect"
"Warm Prospect"
"Client"
"Unknown"
Changing Status: You can change an accounts status from the company dashboard by clicking on the status button. This opens a status selection menu where you can choose the new status.
Status Update Process: When you change an account's status, the following happens:
The system updates the company's 'status' field in the database.
If the new status is "Existing Client" and the old status was different, the system:
Sets a 'converted_to_client' flag to True.
Records the conversion date.
Increments a 'conversion_count' for the company.
Conversion Tracking: The system keeps track of:
Total number of companies converted to clients.
The date when each company was converted to a client.
The number of times each company has been converted to a client (in case of status changes back and forth).
Display and Statistics: The main dashboard shows statistics based on these statuses:
Total number of companies
Number and percentage of Cold Prospects
Number and percentage of Warm Prospects
Number and percentage of Existing Clients
Total conversions to client status
Example of Status Change Flow:
You select a company from your list.
On the company dashboard, you click the status button (e.g., currently showing "Cold Prospect").
A menu appears with options: "Client", "Cold Prospect", "Warm Prospect".
You select "Warm Prospect".
The system updates the company's status in the database.
The dashboard refreshes, now showing the new status.
If you go back to the company list, this company will now appear when you use the "View Warm" filter.
This status tracking system allows you to easily categorize and monitor your business relationships, track your success in converting prospects to clients, and filter your company list for more efficient management.
